Enabling Windows 11’s New Redesigned App Picker
So for those of you who don’t know what an app picker is, it is essentially a dialogue box that opens up when you right-click a file and click on “Open with”.
Currently, it looks like this:
But with this blog post’s instructions, it can look like this:
Here’s how:
Download ViVeTool — https://github.com/thebookisclosed/ViVe/releases/tag/v0.2.1
Extract it then take note of where it was extracted to.
Open a Command Prompt in Administrative Mode by searching for it on Windows’ Search and clicking “Run as administrator”
If you extracted ViveTool in default C drive simply type cd then paste where it is located (look at the following screenshot).
For those like me who have an alternate drive where it is extracted:
type D: if it is your D drive or A: or whichever.
then type in cd (paste the location of the folder as seen above).
Now, simply copy and paste the following to enable or disable the feature:
To enable: vivetool addconfig 36302090 2
To disable: vivetool delconfig 36302090 2
And that's it. It should now look like the second screenshot of this post!
Enjoy!
